Beautiful weather today!  So lets go get some Chicken and Rice!!!  I ventured up third ave planning to go to some carts I’ve heard about closer to midtown, but I stumbled upon this cart and decided to try it instead.  At first I was a TAD concerned, because there were a couple of Mexicans running the cart.  Personally, I’ve never seen a non-middle-eastern person working at a Halal cart so I was a bit confused.

The cart was decent.  After eating so many different cart, it really seems that most carts have the same recipe for their chicken, rice, and sauces.  They all really blend together.  This is one of those.  Now don’t get me wrong, the food wasn’t bad, it just was very common.  It was your standard chicken and yellow rice with lettuce, and some chopped up veggies mixed in (tomatoes, broccoli, and peppers).  For some reason, the meal retained its’ heat for a VERY long time.  I’m not sure why, but it did.  The hot sauce was pretty spicy, which I think was exacerbated by the fact that the dish itself remained very hot.  Maybe I’m just losing my tolerance to spicy stuff?  Who knows…  The white sauce wasn’t anything special, just regular white sauce.

I wouldn’t avoid this cart, but I wouldn’t make it my #1 choice.  There are other carts that are better only a block or two away, so I’d try those!
